Raul did a consultation, then a first time bleach and tone for my teenager from dark brown to platinum. It looks amazing and my kiddo is super happy with the results.

My teen called for the consult on his own, and Raul followed up with me for final approval since my teen is underage. He was a good listener and worked well with my kiddo in the chair, especially since this is a long process and teens are notoriously fidgety!

Before the appointment, Raul took the time to explain the entire process, so I knew exactly what to expect. He also provided very clear directions to his studio, which made it super easy to find. I came in with seven months of hair growth after a complete hack job of a haircut at an unrelated stylist so I was very much overdue for a good styling. Raul provided the all-star treatment with a thorough wash and scrub with all natural products and a consultation and discussion about what I wanted from this visit to his establishment.

After a skillful blade cut, sea salt spray and styling my shoulder length hair was restored to a bouncy and curly medium length cut that felt like a whole pound of hair was off my head and out of my eyes and already getting plenty of compliments as I walked out of his shop.

I enjoyed my experience at Xxenial hair studio. I think it’s unique to the stylist’s experience of hairstyling/cutting and I still very much got what I asked for. He maintained length, gave me a shag/wolf cut with layers and used a razor for my whole haircut as I asked. My hair is below my shoulders/at chest length so it’s a little lengthy, but length was kept while still getting at dead ends and giving the cut. I’m picky but I’m open, and I think if you also think along those lines and have reference pictures either from yourself but ALSO from Google as they are better to reference for the stylist then he will definitely give you what you what you want. I had a bit of a different haircut in mind, but I didn’t have any good reference pictures from Google I just had selfies that were not of good quality to properly reference from but he showed me something that I was okay with and gave me exactly that and a mixture of the selfies I showed him. I am pleased, and can assure you that he will give you what you want if properly shown and he is good with longer hair- at least I can attest to chest length hair! Length- check, layers- check, razor cut - check, styling at the end was also a plus- check check check....more

It’s personable and professional from the start which creates a good first impression. Every experience has been great since the 1st visit. Raul is beyond professional, personable and precise. That being said it should be not just his skills as a hairdresser that draw you to his business…it is his heart of gold. I was thrilled with Raul's service. Safe, awesome hair cut, fun time! Loved the hair cut, which focused on how my hair could be at its best, given its natural wave. Day 2 with my own product and styling and it looks just as good! He is at a great location in the Mission, took every safety precaution, wearing a mask the whole time, set up independently so there are no other customers to worry about, offered hand sanitizer upon entry and exit, and his chair was right in front of a large, open window. Since I moved from CA to IL, Raul is someone I miss the most. He is an amazing friend and barber. He recently came out with his own product line, I have his, “The Wax”, and “The Clay.” I haven’t tried “The Clay” yet, as I LOVE “The Wax”. I love how it smells, it’s very silky, light, and it holds so well with using a very small amount. I can’t wait to try the Wax and Beard Oil. I guess the picture is probably enough, but read on if you need more convincing.

Raul is a great guy, and he always has something interesting to share. He has lots of knowledge on hair and scalp health overall. However, the most important thing for me is that he is incredibly good at cutting beards, which is something that most barbers don't have a lot of experience doing.

Can't recommend Raul enough, especially if you aren't sure what you want to do next....more

Always a perfect fade, and I don’t trust anyone else with my beard. I’ve had some butcher jobs in the past but Raul is sure to make me look sharp every time. Also his signature beard oil is an absolute staple for any beard I could not recommend it more. Awesome conditioner, all natural oils and the scent is masculine but not at all overpowering.
